Ebony
Bangalore

True roof top experience
The USP of this outstanding restaurant is its location. And by location, I elevate myself to 13th floor in the third dimension. Yes, this restaurant offers you the eagle's view of jostling city called Bangalore. It offers a rather quieter indoor seating as well. But if you are in Ebony for a dinner, You'd rather prefer to sit outside to enjoy the drizzle (if you are really lucky. But Ebony isnt all about the location and 13th floor. It is one of the best multicuisines I have even been to in Bangalore. The Minestronne soup was just like the way it should have been. treat your tastebuds with true North Indian or get exotic with any of the host of cuisines which this place offers. My wife took me there on a surprise outing. And it really was a surprise. An overall feeling of satisfaction which cannot be descriobed but can only be felt.....

Blue Spice
Bangalore
|
Expensive for the quality of food they serve
This is one of the few disappointing restaurants I have been to with very high hopes. A true value for money was expected once you run through the enticing menu. But what you get in your plate is remarkebly different from your expectation. Veg kebab platter was really passable. None of the gravies was good to be remembered. Assorted breads was a bad value for money. The only thing good about that restaurant is its location. Die hards may give their tastebuds a rollercoster ride by dropping into Blue Spice once they dont find space in Mast Kalandar

Umerkot
Bangalore
|
NO GENERIC TASTES, UMERKOT FOR AWADHI
ONCE IN A LIFETIME TASTE, TRULY AWADH.
UMERKOT EXPERIENCE CANNOT BE DESCRIBED IN BETTER WORDS THAN THE ARTICLE WRITTEN FOR IT BELOW.
In a city flooded by cheap North Indian hotels that fail to think past butter chicken, paneer tikka masala and dal fry, it is always refreshing to find a restaurant that actually understands Indian food for what it is — a wonderful indicator of our cultural idiosyncrasies.
Umerkot, located on the Koramangala 80 Foot Road, specialises in cuisine from the musafirkhanas patronised by Emperor Akbar — recipes brought here by the Mughal rulers, and imbibed and customised by the local population of the Delhi, Avadh, Lucknow and Hyderabadi gharanas. Thus, the same aloo, paneer, chicken and mutton are given an infusion of the exotic that places them in a different plane than most other North Indian tastes.
As is expected with cuisine of Mughlai origin, kebabs dominate the menu. What is surprising, though, is the range of tastes the kebabs encompass. Among the vegetarian kebabs, the most interesting choice was easily the karari bhindi chaat. Shredded lady's finger fried to crisp in a delightful mix of flavours forms one of the best snacks I've tasted in a long time. And with the accompanying tomato chutney thrown in, what one is initially prompted to call a pakoda becomes something else quite feisty and impudent.
The most memorable among the chicken gravies is the murg kali miri, a wonderful antithesis to the nalli Afghani — all fun and frolic with a gravy of onion and fresh black pepper. For the vegetarian, feeling like a king comes easy with the paneer dum mussallam, a rich but not heavy gravy of brown onions and poppy seeds. Or you could try the mirchi ka khatto, a Rajasthani kadhi with yellow pepper, a curdy interplay of hot and sour tastes.
All of these gravies are excellently accompanied by a delicious array of rotis such as the keema kulcha, the slightly sweet gilafi kulcha or the layered khurmi naan. There's also a nice selection of rice dishes including subz ki tehri, steamed basmati and murg zafrani biryani.
One would be excused for skipping dessert after this smorgasboard, but that would be such a waste. After all, the tandoori ananas made of cooked-caramelised pineapple is not to be missed, and neither is the homemade kulfi.

Lifeline for Koramangala bachelors.
TAWA is a sole reason for thousands of Bachelors in Koramangala to continue staying in Koramangala, and perhaps in Bangalore. The food here makes you feel nostalgic about good old days spent at your home some years back amid dusty hot streets somewhere in North India. Menu doesnt offer much, but up for grabs is a TRUE North Indian homely food and tonnes of fond memories!!!!!!

Multicuisine ....but try andhra food
Maharaja hotel boasts itself as a fine dining multicuisine restaurant. I dare say, dont try anything else than Andhra cuisine. its not that everything else isnt good, but its just the case, they serve exceptional Andhra cuisine. And otherwise prices are steepy for non andhra.
